Afternoon: Cantina Santadi, 26 km away, about 30 minutes inland. Its Carignano del Sulcis comes from vines grown ungrafted in sandy soil, one of the few places in Europe where phylloxera never took hold.

Forte Village's Acquaforte Spa, the grand resort spa of southern Sardinia, sits a short drive down the coast from Is Molas. No golf today, on purpose.
If you have a non-golfer along, pair the spa with Sardinia Outlet Village, 35 km from the course, about 40 minutes.
Argiolas, 44 km northeast of Is Molas toward Serdiana, about 55 minutes inland. Its Vermentino and Cannonau labels are the ones most likely to already be on your wine list at home; seeing the vineyards that grow them is worth the longer drive.
Play a final morning round at Is Molas before you go if the tee sheet allows it: the round finishes the trip the same way it started.

Carignano del Sulcis grows on the sandy soils of southwestern Sardinia, where the vines were never grafted onto American rootstock: phylloxera could not survive in the sand, so producers such as Cantina Santadi still work some of Europe's oldest ungrafted bush vines. Argiolas, further inland toward Serdiana, built its reputation on Vermentino and Cannonau instead.
Pula, where Is Molas sits, was a Phoenician and then Roman port; ruins nearby predate the golf course by more than two thousand years. The Sulcis hinterland has its own older layer, Nuragic settlements scattered through the hills that never quite made it onto the tourist map.
