Eighteen holes above the lagoon.
The course
Eighteen holes threaded through cork oaks, olive groves and Mediterranean scrub, with the Orbetello lagoon and the Tuscan archipelago on the horizon. Designed in 2006 by David Mezzacane and Baldovino Dassù, it is Italy's only PGA National course and the host of the 2025 Italian Open: the wind off the sea keeps club selection honest.
The estate doubles as a wellness resort, which is why this page recommends it as the base for the whole Maremma itinerary: you sleep, play and recover in one place, and everything else on the itinerary is within 50 minutes.

Practical notes
- Visitors are welcome on green fee. A handicap certificate is asked at check in.
- Book tee times at least a week ahead in high season.
- Automatic rental cars are scarce in summer: sort the car before the tee time.
How to approach it
- 01
Sea breeze builds after noon. The calmest golf is before eleven: book the early tee time and save the afternoon for the cellars.

Water is in play on twelve of the eighteen holes. Where the fairway bends around a lake, a three wood off the tee keeps the card alive.
- 03
Elevation changes make distances lie. Trust the yardage over the eye, especially downhill towards the lagoon.
- 04
Walking here is beautiful, honest work. If you play 36 in a day, take the buggy in the afternoon.
